Superbunny - Character Education and a wonderful Reading Program in one!
In the Neohumanist education vision, the explicit teaching of values is central. Values are at the core of our lives and learning them early on will help us build a steady and successful career. The specialty of the NHE value program is that it encourages good personal behavior as well as love for the inner self. If you are interested in more details about the specialty of Neohumanist ethics as a Psychology of Love, please click here to download a refreshing look at the ancient Yama and Niyama system of ethics.
For children, we have created a series of ten little storybooks and 35 songs that introduce some of the events of a central character called Superbunny and his friends, Piglets, Woodpecker, Owl and others. Superbunny readers are based on the Distar reading program, specially designed for young learners.

Puppet Making Training for Superbunny Books
To help tell and re-tell the Superbunny stories we have designed a way to make all the main characters appearing in the Superbunny series with one single spoon puppet. In the coming up training program we will be exploring how to make these puppets ourselves and use the features for classroom use, EQ education and language learning!
All the puppets' accessories fit into this art and craft box. Some of the characters we will be making are in the slideshow on the side. |
Other puppet making formats
We will be making other puppets as well, such as those made with papier mache, story hats and more fun things for storytelling.
Training will be every first Sunday of the month, in Nankang! |
Superbunny and the Values of Love
The idea of Superbunny evolved gradually as I saw the children's response to the little bunny totally dedicated to doing good and solving problems. After making a series of big books of Superbunny centered stories, I started to organize them around the ten themes of social and moral norms I learned from Shri P.R. Sarkar. Now it has become a character building curriculum, taught over the course of one year, with one theme for each month. To get the books, contact rainbowabc.com@gmail.com.
To get the teacher guide for each particular value, click on the value and a new window will pop up and show you a wide variety of ideas for teaching the topic. Part I 1. Don't hurt others. 2. Speak Good Words 3. Don't Steal 4. Believe in Good 5. Simple Life Part II 6. Keep Clean 7. Help others 8. Be thankful 9. Keep learning 10.
